United Power Carbon Valley Service Center

Longmont, CO

130,000 sf office / warehouse renovation

United Power (UP), a rural, co-op owned energy company, purchased an existing manufacturing building to serve its customers in the western territory. As part of a design-build team, EUA worked closely with UP to design a facility that includes a skylight-filled warehouse / garage, as well as office space for support personnel, a work room for technicians and secure payment center. The project also includes a hardened dispatch center, allowing UP to continue to operate in the event of a natural disaster.

From programming through construction administration I worked to support the project through:

punch walks

  • field verification

  • consultant coordination
  • client presentations
  • ICC Storm Shelter and FEMA Safe Room research into hardened dispatch room design
  • ADA compliance, code studies, fire barrier opening compliance
  • door schedules
  • construction drawings
  • detailing
  • value engineering negotiations

  • specification outlines
  • submittal and RFI responses
